Scott’s practice is an ongoing investigation within the expanded field of painting. His work considers place/non-place and transition/flux within urban environments, and how cultural identities influence ones understanding of place. Scott’s expanded painting practice explores ideas relating to reduction, construction/deconstruction, often using found materials to create spatially ambiguous environments that cannot be realised within a single work.
